Norman Depot

The Norman Depot, originally constructed in 1909, underwent an extensive remodel and new construction to repair major structural issues associated with this historic building.

Working in conjunction with KFC Engineering, The McKinney Partnership Architects undertook a detailed structural and envelope assessment of the existing building. After extensive field work and review, it was decided with the City of Norman that the existing south portion of the building would have to be removed and reconstructed. Over the course of that project, several other areas of structural damage were encountered and the design and construction team worked hand in hand to assess, design, repair, and rebuild this building using the original reclaimed brick and some of the original window frames.

Throughout the entire renovation, the facility did not close and continued to host events and act as an active train station. Careful planning, coordination and phasing of the construction were required throughout the entire reconstruction cycle.
